You can visit us, view our premises and see all the different stages of cars presently being restored. We pride ourselves that our bodywork preparation and paintwork is as good if not better than new. During this visit you can discuss with us your own personal requirements including the mechanical and interior side of the specification. We can either make the restoration completely original or we can upgrade these components as to your own wishes. Some customers home and abroad prefer to prepare a specification without even visiting us. None of these customers have been disappointed with the finished work. We can arrange export in most cases either to your door or to the nearest available port. We obtain our new bodyshells from British Motor Heritage. 30 miles from Cowley where the original Mini was made traditional minis are coming off the production line. They make at present Mk 4, Mk 5, Mk 5 sportspack and Mini Clubman. They use the original jigs from the British Leyland production line. BMH started out as a division of British Leyland and was set up in 1975 to produce spares for classic cars. At the Witney plant each Mini part is hand finished, but the original 45 year old jigs and tools continue to provide the best way of providing correct parts. This is why we only use genuine heritage panels, subframes either completely fitted up new and shells in our restorations. Heritage also supply the component parts of the subframes fully fitted down to the brake discs, driveshafts etc. We also have a very limited supply of new engines and gearboxes. Alternatively the existing engine and gearboxes can be rebuilt to our own very high standards. Some customers want old cars with modern running gear. This can also be accommodated subject to keeping to DVLA guidelines. We have fitted twin point injection engines in 1963 Woody Travellers for instance churning out 90BHP. The last original style mini was built in October 2000 so it is important that there are restoration facilities available that cater to keep the original mini alive. Where would you get your mini restored? Would you choose a paintjob done in a backstreet garage where there is no modern low bake oven facilities. Would you choose to have the bodywork carried out by accident repair garages. How many people have been disappointed to find that their accident damaged mini has been repaired with little regard to finish. We carry out insurance accident repairs to your own mini if you wish. Most insurance companies will allow us to carry out the work with negotiation.
